¨Natural History and Conservation of Ceroxylon alpinum (Wax Palm) subspecies ecuadorense, in north-western slopes; A proposal for management of Palma de Ramos in Ecuador.

The projects focuses in generating key information related to the ecology, genetics, reproduction and management of Wax Palm in Ecuador.

Voluntary Conservation and Communitarian Development
The ISV program has as objectives:

• Strengthening environmental consciousness of participants (both from volunteers and local community) and promotion socio-cultural interchange.
• Instruct volunteers in conservation activities, together with maintenance and administration of protected areas in conjunction with the “learning by doing” principle.
• Develop knowledge regarding the Choco bioregion, environmental problematic, and fomenting of conservation activities for this important ecosystem.
• Support an environmental and social development of local community.
